As Easter approaches, it's time to indulge in the sweetest traditions that make this holiday so special. And what better way to celebrate than with a cake that embodies the essence of Easter itself? Nothing quite captures the spirit of this joyous occasion like the iconic Cadbury Egg. If you're a fan of this sweet treat, you'll love this cake!
I love baking. It requires a type of precision I don't normally find in other areas of my life. But sometimes, as a busy mom, I don't have time to bake from scratch and THAT'S OK.
The beauty of the Cadbury Egg cake is that you can use ANY flavor and brand of box cake you prefer. I gravitate towards carrot or funfetti, as they're the favorites of my family.
Bake normally at whatever size you prefer. This cake was three layers and I baked in a 9" pan and then cut to 7.5" as I love the look of a taller, less wide cake.
Divide your eggs by color, choose a pattern you like, and gently press into the frosted cake. Layer a few on top and serve. Beware of falling eggs once you cut into it. After 24 hours the eggs will soften.
Bon Appetit!
